Grinder saves man from robbers

The law in South Africa is stacked heavily in favour of criminals. You are denied the right to own a firearm in South Africa (thanks to liberal douches GunFree SA) bar under exceptional circumstances. Even if you own a gun, should you kill an intruder, armed or not it is likely that you will be charged with murder.

I maintain, as I stated the other day that the fear of prosecution should never stop you from shooting first and asking questions later. Better to be alive able to answer questions than dead and not have the option. The victim below defended himself with whatever he had, faced the obligatory murder charges and was acquitted. He lived to tell the tale. Defend yourself and never have second thoughts. As is tradition on this blog, we open a beer and drink heartily when a perp bites the big one. Bottoms up to Carlos and Ryobi was it?.

Nelspruit - Mpumalanga business owner Carlos Chauke said he had no choice but to defend himself from knife-wielding attackers using the only weapon he had, an angle grinder.

Magistrate Bertus Le Roux agreed with him and found Chauke not guilty of killing Timothy Magagula, 45, in the Nelspruit regional court on Wednesday.

Magagula and two other men attacked 33-year-old Chauke after he had just opened his metal workshop in KaNyamazane on November 6, 2007.

Chauke was preparing to cut a piece of metal with the angle grinder when he felt a stabbing pain in his back.

Holding grinder when attacked
He turned around and was confronted by the knife-wielding attackers.

"They kicked me and I fell to the ground. I was still holding the angle grinder," said Chauke.

Desperate to save his life, Chauke stood up and thrust the grinder at his attackers, cutting one of them across the chest. The injured attacker and the third man ran away, leaving Chauke and Magagula to face off against each other.

Chauke said Magagula rushed at him, stabbing his hand, and he retaliated by throwing the grinder at him.

Magagula fell to the ground, sustaining wounds to the head and arm.

Went to police
Chauke ran to the wall and turned the grinder off before heading for the police station to report the crime.

When police arrived, Magagula was already dead. Chauke was rushed to Rob Ferreira Hospital and treated for stab wounds to the back, hands and stomach.

Chauke could not believe he survived the attack. "I wasn't supposed to die that day. It was God's will that they didn't kill me," he said. Le Roux said: "You were lucky to have survived. If it was not for the grinder you might have died."

I'm drinking a Miller for this guy.
Another 'brave' backstabbing scumbag gets what he deserves, making the world a slightly better place.

Better to be tried by 12 than buried by 6. Mr Chauke good for you. Wonder what it cost to defend yourself though? Surprised the docket wasn't reviewed first, as it used to be, and returned Nolle Prosequi (unwilling to prosecute).

Hey VI, it speaks to the competency of the police and/or prosecutor. Yes, Mr Chauke, I see stab wounds in your back and the knife cuts all over but was it necessary to defend yourself? You should have let they thug keep stabbing you and only after say, 20 stabs and you are bleeding profusely should you have defended yourself. Wtf?

Sooner or later a small percentage of South African people will come to the conclusion that the only way to reduce crime is by killing off the criminals. It's such a simple solution. Boons understand it instinctivly better than Whites as they understand the primitive emotions of their fellow boons.

One of my employees in Cape Town (53 year old xhosa man)came to work with a huge grin one day, because he had shot and killed the man who stole his cellphone a few days earlier.

I bought him lunch.

That's excellent Viking. Think about how much he saved us taxpayers by getting rid of that scum.
